Berney in the Community
The YWCA Central Alabama and Berney Office Solutions are working together to provide much needed school supplies for students in the YWCA’s After-School Enrichment Program (ASEP) for homeless children. School supplies are a valuable necessity in classrooms and after-school programs, but often hard to come by for families living in community shelters.
Berney Office Solutions is asking local businesses to provide homeless students with the supplies they need to start the school year off right! Businesses can help by housing a donation box at their office to encourage employees and customers to donate to the drive. Thank you to the following businesses who have already agreed to help:
Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame
Greensprings Chiropractic
Meineke (Alabaster)
And thanks to Triad Packaging Inc. for donating the collection boxes
These businesses will have donation boxes through September 12, 2008, but donations are always welcome at the YWCA. The school supplies wish list includes:
· Mesh or Clear Backpacks
· Hand Sanitizer (all size bottles)
· Kleenex and Paper Towels
· Pens and Pencils
· Dry Erase Markers
· Uniforms (all sizes; white & light blue knit shirts & navy pants)
· Boys Belts (navy or dark brown)
